2009 Fic meme

What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
I’m thinking that would have to be Defence. I started that one a loooong time ago (late 2007 I think it was) and got stuck. Determined to get it to work I eventually sat down and wrote out plot points for the chapters I had and what needed to come after. Then with a little help from valeriev84 I got past another sticking point and finally finished it.
I’m also very happy with the way that I managed to work it so that the hero saved himself, rather than needing saving.
My best story this year:
Again, that would have to be Defence. Why? Because it had more of a plot than some of my others; Don was deep in his FBI persona; I had a personal best for number of original characters on both sides of the equation; the action moved through several locations and POV’s; and finally the point from the previous question, he saved himself (with a little outside intervention in the right places).
Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I really don’t know what to say to this. Any and all comments are appreciated.
Most fun story:
I loved writing the crossovers with Supernatural, Explained and recently Doubt. Doubt would be my pick of the two. There is just something about putting Don and Dean together.
I also enjoyed writing Assault far too much.
Sexiest story:
Uhh, don’t have one.
Story with single sexiest moment:
Ditto.
Hardest story to write:
Defence. Early on I just kept having different ideas and ended up with a mishmash of text that I had to weed through and check I had continuity throughout. Once I found my line however it went much better. It just took forever to get there.
Favorite line from anywhere:
Not really sure. So perhaps in that vein from a Jimmy Buffet song: “Indecision may or may not be my problem”.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
In calculating what I had written this year I found I had actually produced more than I’d thought.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?
I don’t think I was all that adventurous. I’m not into writing any ‘pairings’ and I had already written one crossover with Supernatural and wanted to do more.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
Don’t think anything was particularly risky as such.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Just keep on writing. I rarely know where a story is going when I start it, part of what makes writing so much fun.
